SR. DIRECTOR CONTENT DEVELOPMENT AND STRATEGY, Norwell, MA

Position Overview:

The Sr. Director of Content Development & Strategy will serve as the brand manager of words and voice for Lumina Datamatics. He/she will support creation of original content and oversee content development and strategy consistent with the client requirements and strategic goals.  This position will serve as direct supervisor for the Content Development Manager/s and operational team members. Creativity, the ability to think in a visionary and innovative way, strong decision-making skills, ability to work with global team including freelancers and technology mindset are key qualities of the Sr. Director of Content Development & Strategy. 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Understand Lumina’s existing brand and implement fresh ideas.
  • Ability to work with multiple clients and extremely fast-paced environment
  • Create and oversee the development of original content and other materials in a fast-paced setting.
  • Tailor content to specific platforms and understand the value of application to a variety of platforms.
  • Lead the content development staff in brainstorming and demonstrate continual creativity and brainstorming individually.
  • Serve as direct supervisor for the Content Development Manager/s and support staff.
  • Act as a sound decision-maker on preliminary content development and execution.
  • Review statistics and support presentations to clients
  • Write proposals/RFPs on an as-needed basis
  • Train/mentor team leaders, PM, and other internal/freelance staff
  • Capacity and budget planning

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5+ years of experience in content development.
  • At least three years of experience managing professional staff.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Superior communication, listening, writing, and proofing skills.
  • Ability to effectively juggle multiple projects and priorities at one time.
  • Excellent command over written English as well as familiarity with AP Style.
  • Higher education experience desired
  • Successful completion of a background check in accordance with Lumina Datamatics policy.
  • Availability for video / phone conference 7am to 4pm eastern
  • Must be available to travel for client meetings (US based) once COVID-19 related travel restrictions are removed. In addition, overseas travel may be required once / twice per year.

PM responsibilities for a typical product include:

Job Description:Lumina Datamatics is looking for talented and experienced freelance project managers to take on full-service projects of varying types and in different disciplines. The project manager (PM) will handle the complete production process from manuscript turnover through final deliverables (whether that’s releasing files to a printer, for online courseware delivery or other digital product, or multiple deliverables). We are interested in developing lasting relationships with freelance PMs willing to handle anywhere from one project at a time to a full-time workload. This is a fully remote position with relatively flexible hours (though at least some availability between 9:00am–5:00pm EST will be needed). Rates vary depending on project complexity. PM responsibilities for a typical project include:

  • Working within Lumina Datamatics systems, publisher systems, and Smartsheet to traffic/monitor work and schedules.
  • Creating and managing the entire production schedule, ensuring that all components stay on track to meet final due dates.
  • Overseeing and ensuring all required workflow and processes are being followed and adhered to and troubleshoot and provide support to resolve any issues, blockers.
